My Better Half (”MBH”) dropped and broke his cell phone yesterday. Which is fine, it was an ancient slider phone that I’ve been nagging him to replace for quite some time now. I hated that thing, but he’s not nearly as into gadgets as I am, so he didn’t mind it as much. I tend to not be happy unless I get a new cell phone every 6 months or so. Since we have 4 on our family plan, we end up getting someone else a new phone then switching the numbers so that I can have the new one and they get my hand-me-down. Works pretty well, at least for me.
Since we needed to replace MBH’s phone, he said I could pick out a new phone and he’d take my “old” one, as usual. Unfortunately for him, my old one is a pink Katana. He said he’d take it anyway, he doesn’t care. So I picked out a pretty red Samsung Upstage. Its a cool little flip phone, but not in the sense that it folds, like most flip phones. Its a candybar style, but is only about a half inch longer than the Katana is when its closed, and is thinner. Its a flip phone in the sense that its a phone on one side and an MP3 player on the other. Stores data on a micro-SD card, which is nice. Comes with a nice red leather case that is actually an extended battery. So far, I’m very fond of it, but we’ll see how much I like it in a week or two.
On another, totally unrelated note, it was very disturbing to read the various news stories about Michael Vick and some of the specific charges. Abuse of any animal horrifies me, and dogfighting is about as bad as it gets.
I sincerely hope that every adult, or anyone who should know better, who participates in animal abuse burns in hell for all eternity.
